Workers Compensation & Insurance

Patients who have a valid workers compensation claim with their employer and insurer are able to access workers compensation consultations at Bondi Doctors.

Please note that workers compensation appointments can only be booked on weekdays between 8am and 5pm.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Most injuries that occur on the job are covered by workers compensation insurance, including accidents and illnesses caused by exposure to work activities, materials and equipment.

If you are unsure if your accident or injury qualifies, please speak to your employer or insurer.

INITIATING A WORKERS COMPENSATION CLAIM

You will require a standard (15 minute) appointment with a GP to assess your accident or injury. This appointment will incur a private out of pocket fee to the patient. This consultation should be fully reimbursed to you by either your employer or insurer upon the acceptance of your claim.

Once accepted, you will receive a unique claim number that you must bring along to your next appointment, along with the contact details of your insurance company.

To ensure continuity of care, it is important that you continue to visit your usual GP for your initial workers compensation appointment and any ongoing review of your workers compensation claim.

WORKERS COMPENSATION FEES

All workers compensation appointments must be paid for in full by the patient at the conclusion of each appointment. Once your claim is accepted, you can submit your invoices to your employer or insurer for reimbursement.

PRIVATE MEDICAL REPORTS & INSURANCE DOCUMENTATION

Some medical reports and forms are not covered by Medicare, WorkCover or CTP schemes, including reports for:

Income protection insurance
Life insurance
Superannuation or disability claims
Other private medico legal or administrative documentation

These reports attract a private out of pocket fee, which varies depending on the time required and complexity of the documentation. Fees generally start from $150 + GST.

Please note:

Payment is required prior to completion of the report
Processing times may vary depending on GP availability and complexity
Your GP may require additional information or request a follow up appointment before the report can be completed
Standard consultation fees may also apply where a clinical review is required as part of the assessment
Urgent completion requests may not always be possible
